Goodbye.
Do you miss that smile on my face?
Do you miss that shine in my eyes?
Now that we cant relate and its my soul that dies.
Do you miss when tomorrow was all we had?
When we drove around just to get away.
Glad to be alive and at night we would pray.
Do you miss talking all night long?
Waiting for an answer to all this pain.
Maybe we were wrong, but we didnt complain.
Weeks of silence and all those fights.
How will I know if were going to be alright?
The coffee breaks are what saved me.
While you were running on the caffeine.
And we couldnt wait to flee but we were only eighteen.
Do you miss our old high school?
The marching band on the field.
We thought it was cool back then what our personalities revealed.
I can still see you walking down the hallway.
Waving at me with a huge smile on your face.
Just another day that my worries you erased.
Do you remember when it started?
Our silent spring turned into summer.
Communication departed and I lost my guitar strummer.
Do I miss that smile on your face?
Do I miss the spark that lit up your eyes?
My mind is at that place where we said our goodbyes.
Sunset in the background.
Stars flickering in the sky.
I hope you didnt hear my heart pound or see me start to cry.
You looked me in the eyes and held me with your gaze.
Told me Id be fine and not to be afraid.
Did you know you helped me in so many ways
or that I was the one that you betrayed?
Now Im miles away with a smile on my face.
My eyes reflecting what you taught me.
I didnt mean to replace you but you would agree.
That was our last night together.
Its time we say goodbye for good.
When I said Id love you forever, I guess you just misunderstood.
